After graduation from UGA, he sought professional training to become a physician assistant (PA) and received his second Bachelors of Science degree from South University, Savannah in 2001 where he graduated magna cum laude. He has practiced Emergency Medicine as a PA in various emergency departments around southeast Georgia and in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2005, he received his Masters from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Jason made Camden County his home in 2005 and is currently practicing Family and Emergency Medicine has a PA in Kingsland, Georgia. Jason has served on his home owners association’s board of directors as its secretary and president. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants and served on their board as a student director in 2001. He is a life-time member of the National Rifle Association. Prior to becoming elected to the Georgia General Assembly, Jason was active in the Tea Party movement in coastal Georgia.

Jason is happily married to his wife Melaney, and the couple has two daughters, Madeline and Vera. The family attends Agape Christian Fellowship in St. Marys, Georgia.
Representative Jason Spencer is honored to serve the people from House District 180, which includes all of Camden County and a portion of Glynn County.

Jason was born to a military family on Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. His family moved to Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia in 1978 and a year later to Alapaha, Georgia.

While growing up in South Georgia to a modest family, Jason learned the value of
hard work where summer jobs included picking peppers and cropping tobacco. He graduated from Berrien County High School in Nashville, Georgia.

After high school graduation, Jason attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton and played tennis for ABAC in 1994 as a walk-on. During his time in Tifton, he secured a full athletic scholarship to play tennis at Alabama State University. Later, he transferred to the University of Georgia (UGA) and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Exercise & Sport Science in 1997.
